What to do in Frisco while you’re in town for the Frisco Bowl

Frisco is a half an hour directly north of Dallas. It’s a city with a rich sporting and cultural history that gives visiting bowl attendees plenty to discover.
The Tropical Smoothie Cafe Frisco bowl will take place in Toyota Stadium which is also home to the professional soccer team, FC Dallas. Toyota Stadium is also known for hosting soccer tournaments using the 17 stadium-quality fields that surround the main stadium. The complex is also home to the National Soccer Hall of Fame which will be closed on the days leading up to the bowl, but will open again the day afterward.
The Dallas Cowboys host a Christmas spectacular event on December 20th and 21st in the Star Shopping district in Frisco. There will be special Dallas Cowboy guest appearances as well as daily appearances by the Dallas cowboy cheerleaders, the Dallas Cowboy drumline, Rowdy, the official Dallas Cowboy mascot, and Santa.
The National Video Game Museum in Frisco features a retro arcade where users can play games from the 1980’s. It’s open everyday except Monday. There are also guided tours on Sundays from 1-3pm if you’re still in town after the game.
You can visit the Frisco Heritage Center’s open house every 3rd Sunday and look inside historical buildings that show what life was like for people who developed the town of Frisco over 100 years ago. There are live blacksmiths to watch, a steam locomotive and a wooden caboose.
Or if you’re more into the relaxed beach lifestyle, you could just sit back and lounge around at the hotel before the big game. Maybe go swimming in the pool, maybe get a taste of the tropics by visiting one of the many Tropical Smoothie locations close to Frisco.
